A total of 69 Chinese firms, including eight in Taiwan, have made it onto the Fortune 500 list this year, 16 more than last year.

The list includes 133 US firms and 68 Japanese companies.

Walmart Stores tops the list, with revenues of $421.849 billion, followed by Royal Dutch Shell with $378.152 billion, and Exxon Mobil with $354.674 billion.

China's Sinopec Group and China National Petroleum Corp. ranked fifth and sixth on the list respectively.

Chinese metallurgical companies on the list include Shanghai-based Baosteel Group, Beijing-based China Minmetals Corporation, Hebei Iron & Steel Group Co. Ltd., Beijing-based Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco), Hubei-based Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. Beijing-based Sinosteel Corporation and Jiangsu-based Sha Gang Group.
